How Will An Autoresponder Help Me Build My List?

If you want to make money online than you probably already have at least a nodding acquaintance with the idea of building a large opt-in list.  That way you can always have an eager crowd to promote products to, whether it’s  your products  or someone else’s.

If you’re wondering how in the world you could possibly send emails out to all those people don’t worry, you don’t have to.  This is one of the great aspects of internet marketing, the high level of automation that is available.  An autoresponder is just one of those automatic tools that you can use.

Basically an autoresponder is just that, it’s a system that will automatically respond by sending out an email when someone signs up for your list.  When they do that they are opting in, requesting you contact them.  As soon as they opt-in it will trigger your autoresponder to send out the first email.

When you set up your autoresponder you can write as many emails as you want, write them just one time and they can go out over, and over again.  Let’s say you have 10 emails already written out and loaded into your autoresponder.  As soon as someone opts in the first email will go out.  Then the next 9 will go out over whatever time period you’ve specified whether it’s daily, weekly, monthly, or something in between.

That same cycle will repeat for each new person that signs up to your list.  If you have 500 people on your list they will all receive the emails one at a time starting with the first one all the way down to the last one… all on autopilot.  Once you’ve written and loaded the emails, you don’t have to do anything else (though you can always change your existing emails or add more if you want to.)

If you write your emails properly and  use a strong call to action in each email, you can literally be making money 24/7 even while you sleep.  If you find that you want to make some money fast, and you have a large responsive email list, you can just send out a message promoting a new product and you should be able to make a lot of sales.

With an autoresponder you can also send out a broadcast message.  This is very helpful if you’re promoting a brand new product.  This message will go out to everyone on your list at the same time instead of being part of a series.  For the most part you’ll want to use broadcasts rarely.  An automated series is far more advantageous for most uses.

Another advantage of using an autoresponder is that the company that provides you with that service is making sure that your subscribers are opting in properly and everything is documented which will virtually eliminate any spam complaints.

If you really want to leverage the power of your website you need to add an opt-form form and an  autoresponder service to your website.  It’s a sure way to greatly increase your online income and you can do it over and over again.

What Is A Squeeze Page And How Can It Help Me Build My List?

One of the greatest tools in your list building arsenal is a squeeze page, or capture page.  This is a page you can add to your website that serves one purpose and one purpose only: to encourage someone to opt-in to your list.  If you do it properly, you can greatly increase your opt-in rate.

Many people will not achieve the increased opt in rate because they will do their squeeze page incorrectly.  When it comes to building your squeeze page remember KIS: keep it simple.  You don’t want to overwhelm your visitors with too many messages because if you do, they won’t do anything.  People really don’t like making decisions, so you need to make it easy for them. Offer them only two choices: opt in to your list or leave.  I know that sounds harsh but that is the only thing you can do with a squeeze page.

Another thing you want to keep in mind when you are designing your squeeze page is that you want it to be short.  You don’t want them to have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page before they get to your opt-in form. You want to try to keep everything ‘above the fold’ or high enough so that they can get to everything without having to scroll down.

You will want to include some valuable bullet points to highlight what you have to offer your visitor.  Remember when it comes to marketing that your visitors are always asking “what’s in if for me.”  Make sure you carefully outline the benefits to them, why it makes sense for them to sign up to your newsletter.

Bullet points are a good way to do that since it will really draw your visitors eye.  It is quick and easy to read and, if done right,  it will really  grab them.  They almost won’t have an option but to read your page.

When they do opt-in to your list you can redirect them, automatically, to another page in your website where you can give them more information about your product or service.  It’s not like you’ll be sending them away after they opt-in, but by using a squeeze page you’re ensuring that they sign up for your list.

This method is far more effective than just having an opt-in form in the sidebar of your website.  They may not notice it, or they simply may not want to bother, but when their only option is to opt-in or leave they will most likely opt-in.  And don’t worry that you’re going to be scaring visitors off. If they’re not interested enough in your product or service to sign up to receive some great free information, they probably wouldn’t have made a purchase anyway.

Remember that 98% of the people who visit your site won’t make a purchase and they won’t ever come back either.  If you can use a squeeze page to capture their information so that you can market to them over a period of time, you will be optimizing every single person who visits your site.  And when it comes to making money online it’s all about optimizing your opportunities.

What Is An Opt-In List?

When people in the internet marketing (IM) world talk about an opt-in list or just a list, they are referring to a collection of names and email addresses from people who have either purchased a product or service from you or have requested information from you.  This list is like money in the bank, if you use it properly.

When people visit your site you can encourage them to opt-in to your email list.  Most internet marketers will ask their visitors to include just their email address and name, but if you want their address or their phone number too, that is up to you. One word of caution though, with all the concern these days about identity theft your visitors are likely to be uncomfortable if you ask them for too much information, so unless you absolutely need their address and/ or phone number, don’t get greedy, just stick with name and email.

When they op-in they are giving you permission to email them.  They are requesting that you email them.  This is one of the steps that protects you from being accused of spamming.

So, you may be asking, how do you encourage someone to sign up for your email list?  Simple, you bribe them!  Now don’t get upset, I’m not talking about anything tawdry or unethical.  You simply offer them something of value in exchange for them signing up to your list.

Remember, value is in the eye of the beholder.  When I said you would offer them something of value I don’t mean it has to cost you anything.  One of the best ‘bribes’ to use is a free report that gives very valuable information on a certain topic.

The topic will be whatever your website is about.  For example, if your website is about dog training than you could offer them a free report on what words you should use when training your dog.  Whatever it is that you are offering the number 1 rule you must follow is that it has to be valuable information.  You don’t want to make a report that just has the same old recycled information that they could get at a dozen other places online.

Make sure that the information you are providing them will really give them something they can use and something that isn’t that readily available anywhere else.

A multi email e-course is a great way to go.  Usually you’ll have between 5 – 7 lessons on your topic and you’ll send them out once a day for that time period.  For example, each lesson would cover one small aspect of your topic.  While you do want to give out helpful information you don’t want to ‘give away the farm’.  You have to hold back a little so they will buy your product.

If you are a serious internet marketer, or want to be, you have to start building an opt-in email list right now.  Once you’ve got a large, highly responsive list it will be like having your very own ATM.  Many successful internet marketers have used this method to generate ten’s of thousands, or even hundreds of thousands, of dollars within just 24 hours, and you can too.  But first things first, build your list!

When Building Your List, Your Followup Emails Are Very Important

Now that you are building a list it’s vital that you use your emails as a way to keep in touch with the people on your list and build rapport.  One of the worst things you can do is to send out one or two emails and then never converse with them anymore.  Don’t forget at the bottom of every email they receive from you they will have the option to unsubscribe.  You want to make sure they feel it’s in their best interest to stay on your list.

The best way you do that is to constantly provide them with useful information. Whatever the topic of your list is, you want to always be sending them information that will help them achieve whatever goal they’ve set for themselves.  Sometimes you may just include a humorous video you’ve found online, anything that will help you maintain a connection with them.

The one thing you absolutely do not want to do is to sell them all the time.  If your emails are nothing but one long sales pitch after another they will unsubscribe to your list.  If, on the other hand, your emails provide them with useful information with only an occasional sales pitch they will be fine with that.  Just make sure the product you are pitching to them is directly related to the topic of your list.

Don’t go trying to sell golf clubs to your list if they signed up to a list on bird calling.  Many internet marketers are promoting several products and they make the mistake of thinking that they can market all their products to all of their lists.  No.  Again, if you do that you will lose much of your list.  Only promote items directly related to the topic of your list.

While it’s important to not sell them with every singe email, there’s nothing wrong with putting a P.S. at the bottom of every single email where you promote a product.  For example, if your topic is about dog training and you’re promoting a dog training book, you can include a short P.S. after you’re signature telling them about this great book that can help them train their dog and you can include the link for the website.

Doing that is fine.  You are providing them with useful information in the email and at the bottom you’re basically saying, “Oh, and by the way, this book will help you, check it out”. That is a very good, non- invasive way for you to get your sales message in every email without turning your readers off.

If you have a special offer of some type that would really benefit your readers you can also send out one broadcast email promoting that product.  A broadcast is simply an email that gets sent out to your whole list, all at the same time.  It won’t be part of an ongoing email series, it’s a one shot deal.  Just don’t overuse this tool, or your list will get sick of you always trying to sell them.

Building a responsive email list will take time, but if you do it properly and follow up with valuable information, that list is like money in the bank.  It is well worth taking some time to get everything set up since it provide you with income for many years to come.

An overview of list building – Why and How

List building is an integral component of any online business. Your list is essentially your contact base. The problem with websites is that visitors come and go. Hence, they will easily forget about your website and all the good content that you provide.

One way to tackle this is to “capture” your reader’s contact information in the form of name and email. This is also known as List building. Your subscribers contact information is collected through an email auto responder. You can get one of these from services such as Aweber.com and Getresponse.com These services allow you to build Opt in forms to collect subscriber information.

You can collect subscriber information by offering readers “bribes” of interest, usually in a form of an e-book or email course. This bribe will ultimately depend on what niche you are in. For example, if you are selling dog training products, a free gift to collect subscribers would be an e-book teaching 7 dog training tips for dog toilet training.

Once you have gotten the code for your opt in box, you’ll have to set up your opt in page. This is also known as landing page or squeeze page. This page typically consists of a headline, subheadline, benefits, image of your free gift and an opt in box.

Once you’ve got all these components set up, the final task would be to draw tons of traffic to your landing page. You could either use free traffic methods such as article submission or advertise on Google or Facebook. Once you’ve started building a huge list, you can provide valuable content of interest and eventually monetize from your list.

The key to getting subscribers fast is drawing tons of traffic and testing and tweaking your landing page. Also, content is really important if you wish to make profits from your list.

How to build your list for free

We all know very well the importance of a list in order to make money online. But understandably, many marketers have the problem of lack of budget. So how does one build a list for free?  Here’s several great techniques for getting your money making list set up on a shoe string budget (or FOC).

Draw free traffic. The basis of building a free list is to draw traffic without any cost. This can be done by article submission or article directories such as Ezinearticles and putting a link in the resource box of your article which leads to your landing page.

Do an ad swap exchange. If you have a list already and have contacts with several marketers in the same niche, you can offer to do an email swap with them, promoting each other’s landing page to your respective subscribers. That way, you both can benefit from extra leads and grow your list fast.

Join giveaway events. Giveaway events are great places to build your list fast. What you do is sign up for a free account and submit your gift to the website. Then, all the contributors will actively promote the launch and you will benefit from having built a list from free from all the visitors that come to the event. Make sure you actively promote the event as well because the list can only grow from the collective effort from all marketers.

Finally, consider being an active contributor in niche forums. Forums are great places to meet your target market and show that you can provide good value to others. Once you’ve established yourself as an expert in your niche, you can provide contact details of your business to anyone who wishes to find out more about your products or even link them to your landing page to build your own list.

Squeeze page essentials for fast list building

Your squeeze page, also known as landing page or “opt-in” page is your most powerful tool for building a list fast. It is a simple page consisting of a headline, subheadline, benefits, image of your free gift and an opt in box.

Your headline is the most important component of your squeeze page. It has to be bold, striking and able to catch your reader’s attention at first glance. If you don’t catch them within the first few seconds you’ve lost your lead.

The subheadline is meant to re-inforce the message of your headline. It is usually smaller in font but bold enough to encapsulate the message of the headline further.

After the headlines comes the benefits. You have to demonstrate why your readers should give their precious information to you. The benefits should talk about what is offered in the free gift that you are giving them.

An image of your free gift such as an e-book or video cover will improve conversions(the percentage of people who sign up to your list), hence should be included in your landing page.

Finally, your opt in box comes last. You can get the code for your opt in box from your email autoresponder service. The opt in box usually consists of a call to action, name and email input box and a sign up button. One of the commonly used call to actions would be “Get instant access” or “Download now”.

In short, apply these good landing page practices and you will soon start to see your list build up real fast. Remember to test and  tweak your landing page to ensure maximal conversions of you’ll be potentially leaving lots of money on the table.

Top List Building Secrets: Squeeze Page Creation as an Effective Method in Generating Opt-ins

According to experts, succeeding in your Internet marketing campaign/s would mean the implementation of list building secrets and strategies. One of the most demanded methods would evolve around the creation of squeeze pages.

A squeeze page is a landing page that is created for soliciting opt-in email addresses of prospective subscribers. Its main purpose is actually for follow up marketing. You will also notice that a quality squeeze page makes use of success stories that can influence the buying decision of a prospect. Aside from keyword placement and SEO, you can also use catchy sales copies and color psychology. For advanced marketers, their squeeze pages usually have audio and video.

What most Internet marketers do is they copywrite various offline response marketing strategies. They would use a headline, teaser copy, bullets and testimonials. For the more aggressive or serious marketers, they present visitors with several incentives like newsletters and product freebies just to get the contact information of their visitors.

When creating a squeeze page, you need to keep things to a minimum. Do not try to overwhelm your visitors with complicated set ups. Keep in mind that your goal is to generate as many email addresses as you can. If you present them with too much information, they would end up getting distracted and even irritated to the point that they would simply click away from your site.

Hyperlinks and navigations seems to be always absent from most squeeze pages. This will help keep your visitors attention to only one thing – to register or sign up with their contact information or email.

Why do you need to get their email addresses in the first place? Simple – it is a very good way of presenting your visitors with various sales messages over time. This way, you can develop a good relationship with them. You may even be able to cross sell some related products later on.

If you are planning to set up a squeeze page, one of the most effect list building secrets divulged by experts is that it is best used together with an email autoresponder. This way, you can deliver information to your visitors as soon as they confirm their email address. You can also use the autoresponder either to send out an immediate download link or you can provide them with a series of follow up emails for more information.

There are countless list building secrets you can learn from experts. New technology even provided the opportunity to add video or voice tools in order to capture the attention of the visitors. Adjustments on algorithms were even made by major search engines for better ranking and for excluding squeeze pages which are regarded as “spam”. Savvy Internet marketers have realized over time that promising information after completion of email confirmation is a very effective method for increasing their opt-ins.

List Building Tips for Pay-per-Click Campaigns

Of all the list building tips you can find online, methods and ways on how to build a list for pay-per-click campaigns are increasingly popular among aspiring Internet marketers. Most of them favor PPC or pay-per-click because of the huge traffic it can generate to their websites.

Pay-per-click pertains to the ads shown along the sides and at the top portion of the search results page. You can also see them in a lot of relevant websites. The thing about these PPC ads is when a visitor clicks on them; they will be taken to the company’s landing page immediately. In return, the company who owns the ad will pay the search engine a certain amount of money every time their ad is clicked.

If you want to get your money’s worth in the world of Internet marketing, pay-per-click management is the best step to take. However, do these ads drive traffic to the site automatically? No, it does not. There are still things you need to do.

Pay-per-click campaigns are generally built on extensive hard work and research. The goal of PPC management is to drive traffic while minimizing the costs. Thus, to succeed in pay-per-click management, here are a few things you need to consider:

Hire an expert in PPC.

If you feel like you cannot learn or you cannot do it on your own, hire a PPC expert to help you do the job. Since these experts know their way in terms of dealing with search engines, they can help you optimize your ads and put them where they need to be. Keep in mind that PPC is not an easy process. If you will not manage it properly, you will not reap benefits. Sometimes, you may need to spend a small amount of money to maximize results.

Do extensive keyword research.

The keywords you will use for all your campaigns should be specific to your niche. You can attract potential buyers if the keywords are specific instead of generalized. For example, your website is all about hotel reservations in Orlando, Florida. If you will use the keyword Florida hotels, you are less likely to attract visitors who are solely interested in hotels in Orlando, Florida. It is better to use Orlando Florida hotels or hotels Orlando Florida. Just the same, if you are more into the resorts and hotels inside Disney World Florida then you can use Disney resorts Orlando.

Make the landing page the correct page for searches.

The visitor should land on the page where the information he is seeking is provided; otherwise, he will feel cheated and he will just click away from the page. Aside from losing money, major search engines are not good to spammers. Your account may end up getting banned.

Keep an eye on your competitors.

This is a good way to find out about the keywords they are targeting. From the information you will learn, you can act accordingly.

There are more list building tips you can find online not only for pay-per-click or PPC campaigns but also for squeeze pages and social networking. With the right information and know-how, you are on your way to succeeding in your Internet marketing campaigns.
